Santiago de Cuba may be referred to as Cuba's "second city," but it is no miniature Havana. Santiago has a culture all its own, famous for its blend of cultural heritages, sizzling music scene and nightlife, and its July carnival festival of music, dancing and general celebration. It is widely considered Cuba's cultural capital, home to all types of theater, poets, painters, musicians, art galleries and craft shops. Santiago is also credited as the birthplace of son, the traditional Cuban musical style that has greatly influenced Latin American music.

Santiago de Cuba is a city full of contagious energy. During the tour you will visit the main squares of the city and the Tivoli district. Lunch at a local restaurant. Visit to the House of Diego Velazquez and the Cemetery of Santa Ifigenia.
This large and lively plaza is the heart of the city, filled day and night with people socializing, relaxing, and playing or simply listening to the ever-present music that pervades Santiago; a large bronze statue of local hero Carlos Manuel de Cespedes is at the center of the park, which is the natural starting point for any visitor touring the historic center of the city.
Credited with being Cuba’s oldest house, this building constructed in 1516 was once the home of Spanish conquistador Diego Velazquez; now restored, it serves as a fascinating museum of period furniture and antiques that convey the French and English decorative and architectural influences throughout Cuba’s history.
The most popular sight at this large cemetery that contains a vast array of elaborate tombstones is the tomb of Jose Martí which is designed according to Martí wishes that he be buried below the flag of Cuba and surrounded by light and roses; an impressive changing of the guard ceremony takes place several times a day in front of Martí tomb.
